I get asked a few questions regularly when it comes to newborn sessions. I know that you may have some of these same questions, so I thought I'd share the answers for you here!
When is the best time to hold my newborn session after giving birth?
Quick answer? The sooner the better! Newborns are generally sleepier and prefer to be in those cute, squishy poses when they are only a few days old. My sweet spot is 4-8 days old. However, if you have passed that time, don't fret! I can hold a newborn session {that perhaps looks a bit different} up until about 8 weeks old.
How do I book if I don't know the exact date?
Babies come on their own schedule, so it's not that easy to plan your session date before they have arrived. This is why I only book a few sessions each month. This way, I have flexibility to schedule your session within 2 weeks from their birth. I just ask that you contact me within 24 hours of having your new bundle of joy so we can get your session date confirmed.
Can we do family and sibling poses also? Of course! I believe that this new and exciting time is important for the entire family, not just your new baby. I highly encourage you to get in the photos also!
How long will my newborn photography session take?
Your session could last 2-4 hours. I am a baby-led photographer, which means that your baby is the star of the show! If they need to stop to eat, they are fed. If they need a break to cuddle, we break. If they need changed, they are changed. If they don't seem to like a pose, I don't do it. Because of all of these possible {welcomed} interruptions to the session, it can take a few hours. {If you have older siblings, don't worry.. I have a variety of puzzles, books, and movies to help keep them occupied.}
Do I need to bring any hats, headbands, outfits, etc.?
The short answer is no. My studio is stocked with a variety of hats, headbands, outfits, wraps, textures, layers, props, etc. However, if you have something special you would like to bring to include in your photos, you are encouraged to do so. {Just send me a photo before so I can plan accordingly!}
What types of products do you offer? As a full-service photography studio, I help you choose the best options for you to display your new photos. My most popular wall art option are my wood prints, and most of my clients choose either a leather or acrylic album. However, I also offer photo books, canvases, framed prints, and accordion brag books.
Do you sell the digitals?
Yes! All of my collections include digital images with your book/album and wall art. However, if you would like to purchase only all of the digitals, you can do that also.
How much are the photos? This is one of my most popular question. The cost can be worked around your budget! I offer a variety of a la carte items. However, most of my clients choose one of my collections to receive the most value. My collections begin at $995. There is no minimum order, and you do not choose your items or collection until AFTER your images are edited - putting the responsibility on ME to create a beautiful gallery for you. Full pricing is provided at your consultation.
